Women's political representation in Viet Nam
Women's political representation in Viet Nam
June 28, 2013
Women's representation in the National Assembly has decreased over the last four terms and is currently at 24.4%. Viet Nam's target is to have a minimum of 35% women represented in the National Assembly and People's Councils in the 2016 election. Significant changes are needed to meet this target such as putting more women on the ballot, raising awareness of the impact of the low representation of the women in the political arena and preparing potential women candidates.
