EU JUSTICE AND LEGAL EMPOWERMENT PROGRAMME

 

 

The EU Justice and Legal Empowerment programme is a partnership between the EU and the Government of Viet Nam being jointly implemented by UN agencies and OXFAM, in collaboration with Ministry of Justice, the Supreme People’s Court, the Supreme People Procuracy, the Ministry of Public Security, the Viet Nam Lawyers’ Association, the Viet Nam Bar Federation, and others.

*The EU Justice and Legal Empowerment Programme in Viet Nam (EU JULE) is funded by the European Union with financial contributions from UNDP and UNICEF and is implemented by these two UN agencies in partnership with the Ministry of Justice of Viet Nam.

 

 

OBJECTIVES:

Strengthen the rule of law in Viet Nam through a more reliable, trusted and better accessed justice system.

BENEFICIARIES:

Vulnerable groups, in particularly women, children, ethnic minorities, and poor people.

DURATION: from 1/11/2017 to 30/11/2020

KEY RESULTS:

  •  Increased public awareness and understanding of rights and how to invoke those rights.
  • Increased access to legal advice, assistance and representation in both civil and criminal matters.
  • Improved enabling legislative and regulatory framework for legal empowerment and access to justice.
  • Enhanced integrity and transparency in the justice sector.
